Searching for some Recipes

After suffering for the last couple of years with these weird skin reactions, the doctor has told me that I'm allergic to yeast. Since yeast in the environment is hard to avoid he has suggested that I take yeast out of my diet. Thing is, I love bread I have some sort of bread with each meal and I adore pizza. So this whole no yeast thing is going to be tough. Does anyone have bread recipes that taste good but have no yeast in the ingredients? Same with the pizza dough (I've always been a fan of the beer battered crusts)? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Pizza Dough (with no yeast)
Recipe #8498712 ratings
I like this recipe b/c it's simple and uses ingredients I always have on hand. I got it from my dad, I can't say for sure where it originally came from, but maybe from a Betty Crocker cookbook. This dough also works well for making meat pies.

2 pizzas 30 min 10 min prep
Change to: pizzas US Metric
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup milk
1/4 cup salad oil
2 tablespoons salad oil


Heat oven to 425 F.
Measure ingredients (except 2nd amount of salad oil) into a bowl.
Stir vigorously until mixture leaves the side of the bowl.
Gather dough together and press into a ball.
Knead dough in bowl 10 times to make smooth then divide dough in half.
On lightly floured suface roll each half into a 13" circle.
Place on Pizza pan.
Turn up edges 1/2" and pinch.
Brush circles with remaining 2T of salad oil.
Add toppings and bake for 20-25 min or until it looks done.

You have soy allergies? Wow I don't feel so weird anymore. I have an allergy to soy. Was diagnosed with that in high school. People look at me like I'm a freak or I'm making it up when I explain why I can't have soy products. Kind of sucks since so many pre-made foods have soy in them. I haven't looked at any vegetarian sites, since I'm a big meat eater. I'll give it a shot to see if there's anything good on there.

Yeah. Soy just messes up my stomach. I can handle it is some foods, but most of the things I eat are soy free too just because I can't eat many processed foods as it is with all the other restrictions. It kind of just falls into place and is taken care of through the other things. I haven't eaten "junk food" in over two years now. Since losing potatos, food has become a bigger fight. It is so hard. I can kick the wheat, I don't miss it at all, there are many replacements. But for the potatos, there is nothing. I still fight it. I try so hard to keep everything in check, but I cheat with the potatos every once and a while. I pay dearly for it. I never cheat on wheat. The price is too high. All of my intolerances, as they are called, not really "allergies" in the sense of the word, were "diagnosed" from 2005 on. No one can explain my symptoms of the intolerance, just that it is there.

Heyo. Thanks for the tips. I can't eat Rye, My allergy consists of gluten as well, and rye contains the same gluten as wheat. Kamut and spelt as well. I do cook with brown rice flower, garbonzo, tapioca and a few stranger ones from time to time. I have to not over do it with the rice -- don't want to develop another intolerance <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> I do eat humus and I haven't tried cauliflower. It's the taste of potatoes I can't give up, but maybe having the consistency will help. Sorry that sounds like I tore apart everything you suggested. I do appreciate your ideas <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
