Sensitive to Noise

OK I know that I had gotten use to having the house to myself & it being nice & quiet while Jazmine was at school & my husband at work, BUT I dont remember things being so loud from the TV before. It drives me up the walls to have the tv going & it blaring (or in my version it is). When the tv gets turned off I feel such a relief. I know that its not just me now with my stuff head because at night I turn the tv down really low in our bedroom. It drives my hubby nights (and has for 9 & 1/2 years) because he cant hear it. We even have headphones for him in the bedroom so he can "blare" it & not bother me while I sleep. I do think that the current problem is Jazmine's channels she watches. There is no "down" time during commericals or shows. Everything is loud, constant etc. I was just wondering if anyone else is "sensitive" to this. It doesnt hurt my ears, but my head wants to explode!

I sometimes have a problem with this, but it isn't anything consistent. I have pretty good hearing though, so I have contributed it to that. I can hear people barely talking on the other end of the house if I am listening for it (they hate it cause I always know if they are talking about me lol). If you have pretty good hearing maybe that is why your ears are so sensitive to the noise.

Also wanted to add the volume of things really gets to me if I am getting any type of anxiety. Sometimes I get anxiety attacks ... mild ones where you just get nervous and uneasy .. no other major symptoms. If I am having one and there is any type of sound around I start getting nauseous (sp?). The louder the nouse gets the worse I feel - I normally have to sit in complete silence until it passes or I will throw up (I know tiny overshare .. sorry). Just didn't know if that could maybe be what you are experiencing - if it is all the time probably not though.

I remember having sensitivity to noises when I was in the ICU and when I was waiting for my transplant. If people talked loudly around me, yikes. I kept on waving my hand down to let them know to lower their voices. I got that from the show "Friends" quite hysterical so I adopted that moment.

It might be connected to anxiety. I only say this because I am quite "uptight" during the "noise" & as soon as it goes off I am ok. I am not really sure, but I feel anxious while its going on!
