has anyone tried this and had any luck? a girl who goes to the childrens hospital here was put on it as sort of an experiment for aspergillus and its helped her. seeing as alot of cf'ers show signs of asthma as well im unsure as to why more people arent on it? maybe it is cost playing a factor.

Hi Kylie

My son has been using singulair on and off for a few years now and he does say that it helps him. Costwise, for 30 the price is $90, that's here in Ontario so he just pays .40c.

I have been on singulair since it first came (prob like 8 yrs ago.) I don't know that I have seen any drastic improvement, but I was put on it mostly because I have asthma.

hi,
i'm on advair and haven't seen drastic results, but if i don't take it for a day or two i can sort of feel it. its probably similar to singulair. they all work to open airways to make breathing easier. don't know if or how it would work on aspergillus though. the only thing i've heard of helping for that is sporanax (which helped me, but i couldn't take it anymore because of the havoc it reaked on my tummy!)

I also take Advair. I only take it once a day and it has helped me a lot. I have what my doctor calls ,exercise induced asthma. I noticed i could walk on my treadmill and not cough much, but the minute i would stop and sit down, the coughing would start. Same would happen with food shopping, I could walk all over the store, but the minute i sat in the car, the coughing started. Using the Advair has helped with this.

I have always felt the same way but never knew it could be 'exercise induced asthma." I always cough after the exercise, or after the exertion. interesting.
