sinus infection

I get really bad sinus infections a lot, and I currently have one right now. I went to the CF center yesterday and was hoping my doctor would give me something for it, but she didn't. However, she tell me to try squirting pulmozyme up my nose. I know it's not made for that, but she has had other patients try it and some say that it helped (when I did it, it just seemed to run down the back of my throat) has anyone else heard of this or tried it???I thought it sounded a little strange.

Also, what else do you do for sinus infections? I use the waterpik daily to clear out my sinuses, but it hasn't helped this time because the mucus is so thick that I can't get it out! I'm on mucinex as high a dose as possible. I just have sinus headaches, I'm really dizzy, earaches, congested, etc. and I think it's starting to move to my chest. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Debra,

This is what my ENT told me to do and it works so well, I don't have chronic sinus problems but I do get sinus infections often. She ordered me a special nose peice for my nebulizer and I inhale the pulmozyme or mucyomist through my nose..just like a regular neb treatment.. It works amazing well..

Maybe you can ask your dr to order you one I got mine from Sinuneb company..

Hope you feel better soon,

Jennifer
