Sinus relief...

I know this has been hashed out before, but I would love to know what you gals and guys do for sinus pain...My ENT is reluctant to do surgery now, so am I...I didn't like the sinus scraping I had two months ago. I do saline rinses, gets rid of some of the congestion and pain and use warm compressess or cold, depending on what mood I am in. I take pain meds to help deal with it, my ENT said this would be chronic...for the last few months my head hurts to the point where I can't even think right sometimes. When it was cultured last time, yeast was found to be the culprit (thank god not the cepacia!), diflucan helped a bit during those flare ups, but this time it is harder to control the pain. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...I know you guys understand where I am coming from. Hugs, Jenn <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

cepaciagal

I am sorry i dont actually have any advice about the sinus issues because 'knock on wood' i havent had any sinus problems. however, i was interested how you said it was yeast in your sinuses and not cepacia. i have cepacia too and i guess i always thought that cepacia would be cultured in my sinuses, simply because i have it, even though i dont have sinus problems, etc.

do you culture cepacia in your lungs but not in your sinuses?

It is wierd but true...I grow yeast in my sinuses and cepacia only in my lungs. My ENT was very worried that the cepaica was in the sinuses as well. I have found that the yeast is a pain to treat....they put me on meds, it comes back, they put me on meds, it comes back.......I wonder if someday that will change, I hope not..the yeast is enough to deal with. I am glad that you haven't had alot of bad issues with your sinuses, I was fortunate until recently. Hopefully your sinuses willl behave for a long time to come!
