Sputum Culture Question

Do any of you know if the lab techs check for everything automatically on sputum cultures, or do the doctors have to tell the lab to check for each bug by name (i.e. MRSA, cepacia, aspergilous, PA, etc)?

I assume they check for everything automatically, but wasn't 100% sure.

With me they always put CF on the form... I always assumed that was because the lab would know what to look for.
But i'm not sure about that. I don't know if they would automatically check for pseudo for instance because that bug is really not that common in 'healthy' people.
