Lately I've seen one or two unkind remarks about how this site is run and the moderators. That made me embarassed. Ninety percent of this site is informative and supportive. About ten percent is trivial bickering. I think the moderators do a FANTASTIC job. When someone makes a suggestion about a topic specific forum, it is immediately created. When someone has a question about how to do a fancy blog post, there is an immediate answer. I just wanted to say that I think they are doing a great job. And this may come as a surprise to some people, but I bet they don't have time to go through and read every post. If someone reports something as offensive to them, I'm sure they take their word for it. If you have such a problem with how things are run, the option is there to create your own forum.
Please do not use this thread to disagree with me and say why I'm wrong. I really just wanted to start a thread about APPRECIATION for JEanne and Bill. If you disagree, you can start your own thread.

Hear hear! Great idea Katy. I, for one, sincerely appreciate the great deal of effort our moderators extend to us and in dealing with our concerns. The "hate mail" aroung here lately must break their hearts, as I know that's not what they intended to happen here. I know that when I clicked on this site a couple of months ago, I thought it was the answer to my prayers. I still do, but it seems like we really have to watch each others' backs lately. I'm sorry that some sore losers, and I do mean losers, feel the need to insult and demean the purpose of our moderators, and each other. There has even been a threat to the whole site--to "SPAM" us to death, because someone can't get their way. So I'm sending you some cyper-brownies, and thanks for a good job!

Katy and Emily: It is true that Bill and I sometimes angst over whether to let a thread go, to delete it or lock it. It's never based on the person but rather the content.
Usually, it's when some meanness is going on or someone comes from left field and doesn't realize all the repercussions and hurtfulness in their statement...and we get the complaints then we decide quickly.

Another word from Grandma MLBurke...she told me to pay attention to compliments...always stop what you're doing, look the person in the eye and say:
