Josh will be going to Interventional Radiology on Monday for a new PICC. His doctor is still trying to get the surgeon to squeeze in a port surgery for next week, but we'll see. I'd really rather get a new PICC and wait until our appointment with our surgeon on 7/7.

Josh is pretty frustrated beign back here- me too. Now we just wait.

I was able to use a computer in the family center- but its only open until noon. Talk to you again on Monday.

I really appreciate all your kind thoughts on my blog!

That's weird, why doesn't IR just put the port in on his scheduled Monday Picc time? IR were the ones who put my port in last monday and they did a fine job. I was on a waiting list too and the first one that was available, Interventional Radiology or the Vascular Surgeons, would do it. IR was ready first.

Neither place gives general anethesia (that's what I was told anyways) but they do give a sedative that worked wonderfully, and a local. For me, I needed a little more and they gave me another 1/2 dose and all was good.

Good luck. I hope it all goes smoothly.

Kelly, I don't know the answer to that. We haven't met with the surgeon yet, but I thought it was general anesthesia. If IR did port placements at our hospital I hope someone would have told us.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0"> I've got to ask more questions!
