Did anyone else get a flu shot but still got the flu?
I got the flu shot but still got the flu which is so frustrating. The flu made my lung functions go really down and landed me in the hospital. The doc put me in the hospital so my lung functions will go back up.
I am getting better and can actually sleep at nights. When I had the flu, i couldn't sleep more than 2 hours and now i can sleep at nights.
I should go home within the next few days.
I was just wondering if awnyone else got the flu as well as me.

Glad to hear you're sleeping again... That is probably the worst part of being sick, IMO.

Yes, I think I had the flu this past week (and its still kinda lingering but I think the Tamiflu has pretty much gotten rid of the worst symptoms). I also had gotten the flu shot. It is very frustrating. I have a clinic appt. in a few weeks which I'm sure will result in IVs to boost my system after being sick. Sometimes it really bothers me that we, as CFers, can't just "get over" things like flu and colds without IVs and hospitalizations. Urgh.

Hope you're 100% soon!

Prior years I have got the flu shot and gotten terribly striken with it, but this year I didn't get the shot and everyone i know got sick <i>except</i> me. Some food for thought.:wink<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

my ob urged me to get the flu shot. i haven't had it in i don't know how many years (mostly cause i just hate needles and don't like to be poked more than nessary). i didn't get it to say the least, it "slipped my mind" <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">. i had iv's at the beginning of jan because my pft's had been down and the cf doctor's wanted to boost them. well i've been off iv's for two weeks and caught a cold. you name it <img src="i/expressions/coughing.gif" border="0">,<img src="i/expressions/noseblow.gif" border="0">. so needless to say i've been a bit discouraged after having my <img src="i/expressions/iv.gif" border="0">. but oh well what can you do. i completely agree sleeping through the night and being sick is awful. my stuffy nose has been awful. just two nights ago i started to be able to sleep again for more than a few hours without waking up and tossing in turn. now i just am achy when i wake up in the morning. oh well what can you do?
