Written by Julie Kaslow on behalf of Jenny,

The bad and the ugly. John's condition has rapidly deteriorated over the last 24 hours. As possibly forecasted, the sepsis (systemic infection of the blood) has shifted to an uncontrolled state. This has required the use of every antibiotic in the arsenal, regardless of side effects and collatoral damage. Sepsis causes a dramatic drop in blood pressure, therefore John has been getting massive amounts of medication to sustain his pressure and keep blood flowing to his vital organs. This has resulted in decreased blood flow to his arms and legs, which are now sustaining tissue damage because of decreased oxygenation. Also with the severe sepsis, fluid tends to leak out of the capillaries and into the tissue, causing swelling, which is the first thing that you notice when you look at John. He continues on dialysis and drip sedation. We are reassured that John is not suffering. There is an overwhelming uncertainty as to the overall prognosis at this time. The doctors have not given up, yet they have 'used all of their bullets' and will now need time to see how John responds. Jenny continues to inspire all of us with her strength, love and unwavering advocacy for John. John and Jenny's parents, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends have gathered to offer love and support. At this point, it is one hour at a time. Please, send all of your healing energy, thoughts and prayers to John today.

What has caused all this for John? How did he get Sepsis, or Septic Shock? I don't really understand what's going on except that he got a transplant and was doing well. I was reading the topics about him just a week or so ago and they gave me so much hope, how could things have deteroriated so quickly? I hope somehow he pulls through but from what people say it doesn't sound good.

John and especially Jenny are in my thoughts. I know just how she feels, worrying about her true love going through this and coming out allright.

May John be blanketed in the light of our Lord Jesus and his burdens be lifted......Family.... stay strong , and pray to the depths of your soul. The Lord can do miracles. We have many hundreds of people praying on prayer lines.

God Bless each and every one of you.
