Hi, i have a state funded health insurance called Medicaid. Well...as of Jan 1st i have to pay a 3 dollar co-pay for every prescription and refill. I am unable to work and only get 564$ per month on SSI. did any one else get this letter?? do you know if Childrend Special health care will pay for this? thank you.

Hi, I have also gone through all that crap with medicaid and stuff as well..it sucks! I am no longer able to work as well but Childrend w/special health care needs will pay for everything. Have you applied? Cause there is a waiting list. But once you get on CSHCN they pay for everything. But you have to remember to re-apply every 6 months or you will be kicked off and back onto the waiting list. Hope this helped. Good Luck

My son doesnt have medicaid anymore but he does have regular insurance and children with special health needs insurance and the cwshn pays my copays.. i think things might be different in other states cause my son wasnt placed on a waiting list and we just fill out a paper every 12 months to keep it going... you should check with the social worker at your clinic... they should help...

What is the difference between Medicaid and Childrens Special Health Care? We are getting an application for Medicaid next week and I want to make sure it's the best thing we can get. Thanks.

I know for us the children with special health needs covers anything that is done by the specialist.. they cover what our insurance doesnt.. such as copays, deductables... we never knew about it til ths social worker approached us about it.. i think here in Maine, the income guideline is around 45,000 so their guidline is over medicaid (which we dont qualify for) but like i said above its different in every state.. hope this helps, any more questions just ask and ill answer them the best i can.. also the cwshn ins. covers my sons pediasure (after pulling teeth) they cover like 190 cans a month........

Melissa mom to dylan 5 no cf and caleb 3wcf..

Amy,
The difference b/w medicaid and CSHCN I believe is that CSHCN is a state funded policy where as medicaid is government policy. Like everyone else says talk to a social worker at clinic and they will help you out greatly.
