Tobi and PRegnancy

Just wondering how many women have cut Tobi from their routine while pregnant and how many stayed on while pregnant!

Please share with me:

1) Did you stay on Tobi or not
2) How did it affect your pfts if you chose not to
3) Does anyone know when a fetus develops hearing so I can possibly avoid Tobi that month?
4) If you stayed on Tobi did your child have any side effects from it!

Thanks so much!

my doctor told me to get off of my tobi cycles when i found out i was pregnant. i looked on web md at the possible side effects and it says it may cause your child to be deaf.

I stayed on tobi with both of my girlsneither one of them has any kind of defect. They did a peak level of my blood when I was pregnant and they were so low that it was almost undetectable.

I also stayed on. We did a peak and trough and the levels were barely detectable or not detectable I cant remember so both my PARI who has done many other CF pregnancies and CF docs recommended staying on it.

I took Tobi in the second half of my first pregnancy (months 5-9) due to a flare up and hospitalization. My son was not affected. I have not taken it this pregnancy due to the fact that I was not already on a scheduled regimen before I became pregnant. However, both my CF docs and the high risk OB they referred me to, who follows their CF patients, both recommend that the patients continue to use Tobi. They have many patients who continued their Tobi therapies with no side effects to the babies. Hope this helps.

Oh, my pfts have remained the same for the duration of my pregnancy except during a cold, where they dipped and came back to base line a couple of weeks later. I have another clinic appointment next week and I'll see if there has been any change now that I am nearing my due date.
