Tobramycin IV

I started my home IV's today and as usual had my first dose at my clinic. I'm on Ceftazadime (twice a day) and Tobramycin (once a day)
Due to clinic times i took my first dose of each at 11.30am onwards. Therefore i'm not taking my ceftaz until tomorrow as it has to be 10-12 hours apart. I really want to take both in the morning i.e 8am onwards, say tobramycin at 9am but i know tobramycin has to be 24 hours apart so by rights i should take it 11.30am but it will be easier for me for work, if i can get it at 9am so is it ok to take tomorrow earlier than 11.30 and from then on keep taking it at 9am?

Not a Dr, but yes, I would shift it to 9AM and then leave it there.

You can give meds +/- 1hr and be considered compliant.

You are talking about moving 2.5hrs one time, as long as you stay at 9AM from then on I don't think you would have any issues.

You can alter the schedule to fit what works best for you at home. Once you have it at the schedule that works best at home....stick with it.
