Wow, congrats mm70.
I'm just starting down the transplant path and will be having my first "meet the chief transplant doctor" meeting.

I would love to hear more about all the testing you underwent and what kind of lungs you got and the re-hab and everything...
Like did you have really common blood type and tissue type etc to get a lung match so quick?
And how short was your ICU stay (Intensive care)?
And any complications since?

I'm not on SSDI yet, but I do know that a transplant is considered an automatic disability qualification for one year.

With the new changes the SSA is proposing to make to the respiratory impairment listing, this would be changed to 3 years. So that would actually be a positive change, as opposed to the other changes they are proposing.

Muscle, sorry I can't be of any more help, I have no personal experience on the matter.
