I just got back from a trip actually. As of sept when i was sick i started using O2 at night. My SATS during the day are 97, 98, when I am well, but my O2 sat in the air drops to 88-89-90, and lower if i get up and move around (this is only at the highest altitude). I was definitely flying for at least 2 years like this, but i just didnt know i needed it. I guess it explains why i never felt that great after flights. You might want it if you dont care, and i bet you will feel good afterwards.
Everyone sat drops on a plane- my parents today are totally healthy and my mom's dropped to 94 and my dad's to 91! (ok maybe he needs to be a little healthier...but they dont have CF!) I personally get embarrased by it, but hey, its my life and health and thats something i have to get over. People just look at me because they dont understand why a normal healthy looking 22 year old has 02, they expect an old lady.
I would recommend it if you think you might feel better- if not dont worry
