traveling with the vest

Hi, I was wondering if anyone traveling with the vest got insurance on it. We are going to be traveling out of state and we are worried about it possibly getting lost or stolen. I know there is a slight chance of this happening but we would feel better if we had it insured. Has anyone had any problems with traveling with the vest?

I read an article in the CFRoundtable (cfroundtable.com) about being able to get a loaner vest from the town that you're visiting so that you don't have to drag your own all over the country. I've never done this myself, but I wonder how it would work out. Of all the things the vest is, portable it is not. I suppose the first step would be to contact your care center and ask for their assistance in contacting a center near where you'll be going. Hope this can help.
