vest- hz's/etc.

hey guys, so i'm giving the vest another try...i've always had a pt therapist come to my house 2-3 times a week, and im an active highschooler (the school i go to requires an afterschool activity anyways). soo the first time i tried, i was 7 and had a machiene that the majority of my friends thought was a washing machiene...and then i tried again when i was like 14 with the machiene i have now.. "The Vest" which is much smaller. when i had the training i thought they told me just to do 18 hz for 20 min. but since i've heard 3 different levels over 20 min. anything over 17 is like, intense! and its a lil ichy! so,

how many hz and min do you do yours for?
how many times a day?
when do you do treatments with them (before, during, after, or not even close to a vest session)?
do you have a pt person come too? or use an acapelle or flutter? (i have an acapella too, but i've only just started using it after pulymzyme on off days)

sorry for all the questions! haha, cf is so complicated... :p

My daughter is 5 so her levels of tolerancy may be a little different. She is on the vest 2x a day (while at home, she is currently in the hosp for a tune up so 4x a day here) for at the very least 30 minutes. Most days, I can sneak in some time on her without her noticing so I would say on average we do 45 mins 2x a day.

As far as Hz, well that depends on how tired she is... haha.. this is what we argue about alot. When she is in a good mood and willing she can do 15hz the whole time, on a bad day throwing fits and such, I wont let her go lower than 11hz.

Also, sometimes she likes to show people how it works and will alternate the Hz from 11Hz all the way up to 20hz, going up and down every few minutes whistling like a tweety bird all the while. It is so funny!

I usually use the vest once per day. Sometimes twice depending on how i feel. I start out at 15 hz and sometimes stay there the whole time ( usually 20 - 30 minutes). Most times i will move it up each time the pedal has to be reset ( you know when it stops and you have to re-sit on the pedal) I usually wind up at 20 Hz for a while before i stop.
Now sometimes (and i have no idea why), but after about 10 - 15 minutes i will get this awful pain under my ribcage on both sides right about where your gallbladder would be, so on those days i just end the session early.
