I have a ?

For those of you who use full vest with front and back what settings do you use? Today I was told to use a way lower setting 14hz and 6 pressure than I was previously told and I was just wondering what everyoen else has found to be effective since I am new at the vest.

Thanks

What is the brand of Vest that you use?

If you have the HillRom, I have posted Warwick's (the doc who created High Frequency Chest Compression) recommendations for pressure and frequency on my Blog.

I personally use Dr. Warwick's latest generation Vest, the inCourage system by Respirtech. It has one button and all the optimum frequencies automatically run.

I have the Hillrom, model 104. With me, my frequencies are this: ( don't have the full vest)

First, I run at 10 MHz, pressure of 2 (my chest doesn't tolerate much more than that) for 10-15 minutes
Then the oscillations are increased to 14 MHz (again, it's what my chest tolerates, I don't do well on very high oscillations- too painful) for another 10-15 minutes.

I do chest physio at least twice a day, more when I am full of junk or feel like an infection is on the horizon.

It seems to work for me, I bring up alot of crap after each session. Hugs, Jenn <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Mine is the dinosaur.........the first one to come out. But it's still kicking so I'm still using it! (American Biosystems)
Last time I went to clinic they told me to use Freq. of 10 for 10 mins, Pressure of 7. Then go to Freq. of 12 for 10 mins, and then Freq of 15 for 10 mins (all the time keeping the pressure at 7). 15 makes me itch so I can only do it for a few minutes before I have to tear my flesh off.
I am 29 and of average height/build. (I'm talking 140#, 5'5"). I don't know if that goes into consideration.
I'm doing my vest right now. I love looking/posting on the forum while doing treatments, makes the time fly!

You will be happy to hear that besides the Respirtech inCourage Vest, the 1st American Biosystems Vest is the most efficacious.

I would again encourage your to check out my Warwick blog for optimum settings.

I have the first version of the biosystems vest. Until this year I never used setting below 10, at least for very long.

I now find (thanks to Warrick's advice, thanks Amy) that these are by far the most effective settings for me. Sometimes I do the whole treatment between 6-10 hz because it is so productive.
