WE NEED A VACATION!!! Ideas?

Our family really needs a vacation to get away from winter in Mass. and all the recent medical crap my boys have had. Anyone have some good ideas for a nice basic CF kid-friendly place to go? International or exotic is out right now, but someplace warm would be fabulous!
Thanks

i would recommend a eastern or western caribbean cruise... don't know what your budget is like but you can get these cruises pretty reasonable... don't worry about the stuff you hear about viruses and stuff on ships, most companies do a great job of containing the risk of an outbreak of a virus onboard... and you might be worried about cf and all the closeness of a ship but i'm 26 and worked on a cruise ship for Royal Caribbean International for a long time with no trouble... and don't worry about the sea sick thing cause you hardly know you are on a ship (when its moving in open ocean walking around kinda like being a bit light headed at first but you get used to it.... for the money i can't think of a better way to see som many things and experience so many different cultures that would really benefit your family...
i would recommend at least doing a little research on it to see if its something the family would enjoy... travel agencies should have great magazines that tell you which ships go where and what they offer onboard... I worked in Adventure Ocean..the kids loved us there and they would cry when there parents came to pick them up cause they wanted to stay... GREAT TIMES

I think a Disney Cruise would be so much fun! You can do it pretty reasonably. Most of them are all-inclusive, so you can control what you spend. And you still get to taste the Carribean flavor. I've heard that the food is really good. Five star.

There's stuff for kids and parents to do. And babysitting services!!! YEA!

Also, I don't know what your buget is, so it's hard to reccomend something, but we just went to St. Barth's and St. Martin. They were fabulous. You really feel like you are in Europe, b/c everyone speaks French. If you do St. martin, I'd stay on the French side of the island only. It's clean, high quality, and the food is incredible. It's also a more family island, but not touristy-family island. St. Barth's is incredible, but can be more expensive, but it's worth every penny.

Also, Hawaii is becoming more popular with family vacations. You can get pretty decent package deals if you look. And that's not too far, but it feels really far.

I hope you find something!

Thanks

We did Hawaii last year for my son's wish trip. Awesome, but VERY long flight from Boston. Done Disney. The ideas of a cruise scares me because of all the virus, bacteria sicknesses recentl but I've never been on a cruise- maybe it would be ok.

Whatever you do, just don't go on a cruise! I just got back from one last month and there was smoking allowed everywhere on the ship except in the restaurants! It sucked not being able to go into certain areas on the ship and I've been sick ever sincce I got back!

Depending on how old your boys are and they're interests....Arizona might be a good place to check out. We went a fews years back to the Pheonix area, and it was awesome!! We did a lot of sighseeing, it is so beautiful and much different than here on the east coast (i'm from RI). Might be something to try.

I know southwest airlines flys to many places in arizona and the flights are very reasonably priced.

Hi,
if you want to go now, I would prefer Florida (Miami,Tampa,Orlando), because its quite warm there. I have been to Phoenix in March once, it was sunny, but with cool winds, not really warm. We do always use coupon books and stay in different motels. The are lots to see in Florida beneath Disneyworld like Bushgardens in Tampa, Homosassa Springs with manatees, Parrot Jungle in Miami, Sea World/Epcot/Adventure Island in Orlando, Butterfly World/Fort Lauderdale and if you like seafood: don´t miss "Boston Lobsterfeast" in Orlando!!!(www.bostonlobsterfeast.com)
