Where do u get your ADEK?

HI I was wondering where some of you get ADEK supplement? I'm thinking of taking it and my doc reccomended it but I can't find it in any stores.

Our local pharmacist was able to order it for us for awhile. I just gave him the box with the company name on it -- scandiapharm. You can also order it from their website. Currently because the ADEKs drops are really scarce, I've had to order from the CF Services pharmacy. Our insurance doesn't cover vitamins, so it doesn't really matter where we order ours from. It was nice that our local pharmacy could get it for us, but once I got the doctor to call in a script to the CF Pharmacy, I haven't had any problems with them either. Liza

We got ours from the CF Pharmacy. Two years ago we learned about ABDEK called Source CF vitamins which are soft gel pills (like a vitamin e caspule). The vitamin levels are equal or better to ADEK and they have B. The best part is that they are NOT CHEWABLE. My kids used to hide their ADEK in their closet. I still smell them- yuck. They also come from the CF Pharmacy. 800-541-4959

Unless something has changed since we got our last supply (3 months worth) all I needed to do was send in proof from the pharmacy that we had purchased a 3 month supply of Ultrase enzymes and they sent us the Adek vitamins at no charge. I don't have the information with me now but I believe the company that makes the Ultrase enzymes is the same company that supplies the Adek vitamins. Like I said, I don't have the information here with me at work but I can check on it this evening.

All Pharmacies can get it, but as a rule it needs to be ordered because its not in high demand. My pharmacists didnt even know it existed until he looked it up & learned something knew. It cost about $20. for a 30 day supply, but I usually get mine from scandipharm when I refill my Ultrase enzymes.

Jane, how much does the ABDEK vitamin cost? Although my daughter hasn't complained in a while she doesn't really care to take the ADEK. She takes it in the evening since it has a tendency to leave an orange color in her mouth. She has her CF appointment tomorrow and I will mention the ABDEK vitamin to her doctor.

I am also going to discuss using the oregano oil on her via the facial sauna. I am so hoping that this will be a positive step for her. She is doing great and last time her PFT's were over 100 so I just want to make sure she continues to do good. What are your thoughts on the oregano oil?

Hi Sue,

They are 18.95 from the Cf pharmacy. Our doctors didn't like the idea of us switching at first because there was no literature on it. Here's a link to the info. they have out now.

I get my ADEKS in a chewable form.(YUMMY). from CVS pharmacy, at first they had to order them, but now, I get a two month supply almost ($60.00) when I pick up my Tobi.. To me, $60.00 is a butt load of money for a vitamin, When I first started going to CF clinic they gave me a months supply, but after that I was on my own..

To be honest, I know how important they are, especially the Vitamin D because of my bones, but sometimes I just feel so bad having my parents pay for them because they are so much money, and they are just vitamins...
