Which comes first...the chicken or the egg?

Hey. I have a quick question...

What usually comes first for you when creating a montage...the pictures or the words? I was thinking the words, but...I'm having a fit of writer's block. Image that...<i>I</i> can't put words on paper. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Just curious what you all do to get your creative juices flowing!

comes first...the chicken or the egg?

For me... its the song. I find a song I want to use. This year I chose Ordinary Miracle by Sarah McLachlan, then I wrote the words (using themes from the song) and last I added pics.

I go with words first...usually I have something in mind by the time I get to putting the montage together. Then, I load ALL of my favorite photos, knowing that most of them will get cut. Lastly, I listen to the song many, many times and look for tie ins to my pics or the text...Last year I had this down really well, not so much this year.

ALso, I write all o f the text at once then intersperse the photos where they seem to fit best.

I have to find an hour or so in the next few d ays to put some finishing touches on the montage so I can get it posted. It's ALMOST done.


Heather - I heard your song on a commercial this morning and smiled thinking of you!!!!
