I've never had anything like this before, and it's very strange... I've got a call into my doctor and hope to hear back tomorrow, but in the meantime I figured I'd ask this....
I woke up about 4am wide awake with excruciating chest pain. It didn't feel like it was in my lungs, it's right below my breastbone (directly between my nipples). It wasn't a pulse or stab it was a constant pressure.
Being myself and experiencing problems with my body my whole life, my initial response was "Welp, let's keep calm and see where this goes. If it gets worse I'll go to the ER, otherwise we'll just see."
So I got up and walked around a bit and stretched a bit and after about 20 minutes it started feeling better, so I called my doctors office and left a voicemail detailing the symptoms and asking that they call me back.
I woke up with the pain gone (felt a little tender/sore). But as time has progressed it hurts pretty badly again, mainly when I take deep breaths IN. It FEELS like muscle pain (like maybe I pulled something in my chest? Can that happen?) but, obviously, since it's in/around my lungs, I need to be thorough.
I'm still waiting on a call from my doctor, and if it doesn't feel better by the end of the week I'm going to start getting concerned... but I just wanted to see if anyone on here has ever experienced anything like this....
Some factors:
I just got home from vacation in Florida (where it was super humid, and came home where it's super dry) and feel swamped trying to catch up with work (my best friend who's a nurse says it could have been a panic attack that woke me, but I'm an incredibly calm person and have never experienced anything like that)
California (I'm in NorCal) just announced this morning that there is a Whooping Cough "Epidemic". I'm not coughing MORE, but... I don't know how Whooping effects CF patients?
