YET ANOTHER QUESTION

I am sorry to ask so many questions the past few days, but I have another one.

Courtney is home from school again. She has had a severe headache for 2 days now, and very tired.

As those of you that are military know, it is difficult to get a same day appointment in the military hospitals. I have put a call in to her doc, and am hoping she calls back soon.

Do you think this could be sinus problems? No fever, just headache. When I press on her sinus area she says it is a little sensitive.

What do you think?

Definitely sinus problems. Did she just get sinus surgery? I forget.

But headaches are definitely sinus problems.

1. Get some Sudafed (ONLY the kind with the active ingredient pseudoephedrine)

2. Get some Allegra

3. Get some Nasacrot AQ - this is the most important part. It will oepn up her nasal terbinates and allow sinus fluid to drain. Use it like your life depended on it .

3. And get some sinus rinse (and use only STERILE water)

I don't have CF, but have had sinus headaches, problems all my life. I usually take sudafed with a pain reliever (advil cold and sinus, tylenol with sudafed). I also take a couple hits of saline nasal spray.

One thing I have discovered that helps me recently is putting ice on my forehead. I got some teeny tiny little blue ice packs at Target -- They come in a sheet of about 50 and they're 1" x 2" and you can cut out as many as you need. I usually cut out two and lay with them on my forehead.

Seana,

I agree with Amy and Liz, sounds like sinus. Courtney could be reacting if the mold has started to grow in the wet spots. My whole family has sinus issues and mold causes us ALL headaches. We live on sudafed, allegra and ocean spray. Josh also does sinus rinses.

Hope its an easy one.

Seana,

This could also have to do with the mold/water problems at school and at home. Make sure when she goes in to the military doc, she leaves a sputum sample... a good one. That way they can test for anything else.

Thanks Julie and Jane.

I was sitting on the porch right now and noticed something else. As they are fixing the roof, there are very fine particles floating all in the air as they are scraping all the old roof off. I am sure this is also irritating her lungs and sinuses. I think we might need to take off for the day until they finish up.

I took Courtney to the doc yesterday.

She has a bad sinus infection.

They gave her antibiotics and sent her home.

Thank you to all that responded!
