Also, check your iron levels and hemoglobin...if you are anemic, then you will feel more fatigued. I hope that they figure out why you are so tired...I can tell you that I feel the same because I am chronically anemic (my hemoglobin runs low 9's all of the time, sometimes even lower to the point...
Agree, you should see your OB/GYN...you could very well be going through peri menopause. I am 41 and am definitely going through that...not menopausal yet, but definitely noticing some changes (late unpredictable periods, occ. hot flashes, skin and hair changes etc). 27 is young, but not unheard...
Agree with Pat....go to the ER and get your pain addressed now, at least get comfortable. Then I would press the issue, someone has got to take responsibility for you...you should be comfortable. It's awful that you have been suffering for so long....and to have to drive 2 hrs round trip for a...
I think you can mix it just with the sterile water....that is the way I have been doing it for years now. I also get my nebs through Foundation care. But to clarify things, you should call them.

Yeah...I feel that way by the end of the day and I don't even work. I don't know how people manage CF and work, especially once the PFT's are on the low side. It's just an exhausting disease. We don't just pop a few pills and then off we go. We have to do hours of nebs and physio and take pills...
I agree with knowitall....the only way to get definition is to do exercises like crunches or planks. Here's a site that describes 6 good exercises that target the abs..http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2011/08/12/ab-toning-exercises_n_925285.html#s365858&title=Plank
Good luck!

It's your body and you have the right to a port if that is what you want, especially because they are having such difficulty drawing labs on you. I agree with the others, a nurse should not sway doctors, a nurse should advocate and be there for the patient. Why would she be against it? If your...
I use Netflix, I don't rent the movies, just stream them so I get charged 7.99 each month...but trust me, I absolutely get my money's worth! I don't have cable, so I stream movies, shows etc. Also, consider Hulu.com. They also have Huluplus.com, which allows for more access to movies and current...
I totally get you on all fronts....the IV's give me wicked side effects, some worse than others. And, like you, it affects how I function. I generally have a hard time keeping up with cleaning, shopping etc due to feeling so lousy. I also hear you as far as family goes, some do not understand...
I did read his OP, as well as yours...you accused him of being on welfare , lying around on a couch and eating bon bons, he referred to you as one of his "crazy uncles"...Sometimes it is just better to walk away...Either way, you should confront him privately. Hell, I'm called the "crazy aunt"...
I was referring to BOTH of you....you are adults, if you feel slighted, take it up with him privately...he should do the same and keep it off of the boards.

Geez, this thread was started in good humor, for a few precious laughs. Considering how awful this season has been for many of our cysters and fibros, looking at the lighter side of things is not such a bad idea....flaming each other accomplishes what? This is totally inappropriate for the...
Definitely clogging the toilets.....I have done this so many times and at so many places. One time, it happened at a restaurant...It was a single bathroom, no stalls, so it was pretty obvious to the next person waiting who the offender was. I jammed that toilet up, it was hopeless trying to...
First I would ask if they did the full sequencing before running the test again....they may have already did it. Unfortunately, unknown mutations exist despite testing for 1600+ mutations currently known. It doesn't happen very often, but it does. Every few years or so, you can have the test...
If you don't feel comfortable with his decisions, it might be time for you to move on. Sometimes it takes a few switches to find the right fit....as far as if your doc is being aggressive enough, nothing annoys me more than wishy washy docs, I can understand caution but he should take in...
Yes, Burkholderia is a cousin of the Pseudomonas group. From what I understand, there are about 6 or 7 different strains of Burkholderia (genomes or types), some supposedly more sinister than others. I have cultured B. cep and B. stabilis off and on ever since my CF diagnosis (about 7 years...
I have been on ceftaz many times, no real problems. But do have issues with others, like Cipro and Levoquine (the whole quinolone family is out), which are severe with anaphylaxictic reactions. Bactrim I get these odd blister like lesions which the docs say is a totally different type of...
You should get that checked out immediately....when I got a clot, my vessels became very prominent and reddened, as well as tender. You could have formed another clot or there could be something else going on. Either way, you need to address this right away.

I too am considered "a-typical CF"...diagnosed at 33 but had symptoms all of my life, just not so striking that CF was even considered. I am now 41, lung functions in the mid to high 20's the last time they were checked and am O2/vent (unrelated to CF). I did know a classic CF'er who did make it...
Could be a fungal infection...I would run it by the docs just in case. My nails are brittle and never seem to grow the right way (lots of ridges, bumps and dents in them), but I have never lost one. I hope you find answers
