What Do You Do When You Forget Enzymes?

A good magazine, a portable computergame and/or the right mindset because you WILL pay for it. * Exercise speeds the process of cramps and passing it for me so that helps. And stress makes the process much much worse. But having those crappy days often enough when they are your own fault and...

    Question about diabetes testing

My sister has CFRD and has had that chip a couple times. Slightly annoying but no huge deal. Maybe not very useful when regular testing shows that you're fine (ie. 2 hours after eating your glucose is back down to good values) and show no symptoms. It is my personal opinion that you can test...

Need life advice - very personal

Link to your band's music please! Would first focus on finding a way to get out of living directly with your father because that doesn't sound healthy at all. Not breaking the connection just getting out of there and focus on yourself. If you have the opportunity to go back to college then...

    the flu - question

For adults from a couple days before the symptoms start (that's the tricky part) till a few days upto a week after the symptoms start. With kids it's worse and well, best not to take any risks and never go near kids, EVER.

Do you have to blow your nose often?

When active and warmed up with the blood flowing I too get a running nose. Not sure why but would suspect it's the bodies reaction to keeping everything lubricated up there with the increased respiratory rate. So that's a good thing..sort of. When we get a coughing fit we warm up and get the...

    Body Ache

Yep, always sore muscles. Our bodies are always up to something (no good) even when we're reasonably healthy and even from coughing. Weightlifting takes away most of my joint pains though. Also replaces my bad muscle aches with "good" ones..

    My Church

Yeah well there's that little catch. If God was real CF would be a direct result of that "God" because he's omnipotent and all. It's much more unbearable to see the state of the world and thinking there is some skydaddy on a cloud doing Nothing. Making him extremely, extremely evil. Oh yeah...

Breakfast Ideas--- to prevent mid morning low blood sugars

It's not for everyone, if you're really struggling with getting enough food in in a day this will make it even harder, but you can look into Intermittent Fasting or atleast the theory behind it. I've been borderline CFRD for a while now and I figure it doesn't hurt to experiment so I've been...

    Feeling down about kids

Yeah and being able to look beyond our biological wants and urges is what makes us human. Natural law.. *Everything* per definition is natural.

    Feeling down about kids

I think it's interesting to know where this urge to have children comes from. I've asked myself these questions often as I've struggled with the non likelihood of having children myself for a long time but realising some things over time made that I can be more at peace with it now. Sadly...

Starting neb meds again and have some ?s

While some level of hygene and common sense should be used with our neb equipment, some sort of paranoia is really not needed because our enviroment and especially our lungs themselves are already far from sterile. Remember that bugs like Pseudomonas are already around us everywhere we go...

    sore muscles from coughing.

Regular weightlifting made most of my muscle and joint pains go away. Coughing still wears me out eventually but not to the point of getting feverishly ill and in pain as before. And I agree on the coughing into something like a cloth or pillow to make it a bit more gentle on your body and throat.

Kicked out of school for being a CF carrier???

It's a stupid misunderstanding, and how the hell does that school know the kid is a carrier? Pretty insane it's a courtcase too (but then I'm European) instead of a 3 minute phonecall. I've always wanted to beat up a principal Let's kick some a... ..hmm. *quietly goes back to nebbing*

    Simple question about Prednisone

@Musclemania70; Do you notice adverse effects in your ability to keep or increase muscle and strength? And do you notice your joints and tendons acting up more quickly when lifting because of Pred? They say this happens (and why I avoid cortisol steroids as much as possible) but I wonder if...

WTF, Why are we all so different?

It's kind of a chaos theory thing. The CF is there but when actual damage is triggered or how something manifests is dependant on one million other factors (^2) and impossible to predict. The whole rest of your whole genepackage (certain bodytypetraits would be more susceptible to CF influence...

Something I hope may lift some people spirits...

Awesome! Great song and you have a very good voluminous clear voice. I like how you go from when talking softly sounding like a CF'er (to the trained ear..) to then singing so good and open with no detectable CFness. Singing must really be good mhm. So thanks for the song and I hope you can...

Would wearing an elevation training mask improve lung function?

I don't think it will, no.. But if you already have one and it looks like a gasmask then you could get creative, somehow hook your nebulizer up to it and do some badass anarchist looking nebbing.

Ways to get rid of a extra 'puffy' stomach?

Depends on a lot of things, fitness level, shape of your chest, shape of your spine, if organs are enlarged or not, if you're on cortisol type stuff, and maybe most of all if your digestive issues are severe or mild. But eating your enzymes right, lots of fiber and trying to prevent...

Would wearing an elevation training mask improve lung function?

No. What those do is make you breathe through tiny holes and limit your breathing and that's not very convenient for CF'ers and the opposite of what we want. Especially when excercising. (The PEP mask on the exhale that we use to bring up gunk is a different story.) Athletes do high altitude...
