Windex, consider fixing your teeth if there's any way you can, despite your age. You're alive and kicking. It would make you feel good. And you darn well deserve it. Age has nothing to do with it. And one day......40 years or so from now.......you can go out SMILING!
Here's another link to the certifying board. They also have a locator function.

I suggest you start here. I do remember now that a dentist could apparently call themselves a "pediatric dentist" simply because they treat children. But that didn't mean...
There is a site maintained by the American Association of Pediatric Dentists, with a locator function. http://www.aapd.org/mobile/finddentist/
that might help, especially if you follow up with calls and ask for referrals from your CF Clinic. I like that idea.
There were only two pediatric...
Not only do antibiotics and vitamins affect coloration, but the acidic saliva and reflux in general can cause premature wearing/thinning of the enamel and allow the yellow dentin underneath to become more prominent. I take our 10 year old to the pediatric dentists at our CF Centers Pediatric...
I'm glad he's learned to take it in stride and so well! I hope everything came out alright...... (pun intended! ) I will warn you though......despite all your attempts to keep references to bodily functions civil, somewhere along the line - and soon - they will learn the less than pleasant...
Hi Ms. Rowan. Can you tell us what the sinus implants are called? I am familiar with the cage like structures that dissolve over time (the Propel implant) but not tiny blue balls! Sounds like another weapon in the arsenal against polyps and sinusitis. We'd love to hear about it.
It sounds like they think it's probably a mucous plug too ..... if they are trying to see if they can get to it with a scope. Bless you. I really have no experience with trying to eliminate mucous plugs or quell the pain they cause. I wish I could be of more help. I assume youre already on...
I'm so glad your PFTs are still climbing and close to your baseline, cam. That's great. My suspicion is that it has been such a long haul for you and so difficult, you've flat out hurt yourself with all the coughing and the pleurisy, if nothing else. If so, it will take time for your muscles...
Look for your next CFF walk or fundraiser and attend. You'll find bunches. Or call your local/state chapter of the CF Foundation. They may be able to connect you with others. It's always nice to know people in similar circumstances! But remember.....we're here for you!
Blessings......
The CFF currently reports: "The predicted median age of survival for a person with CF is in the early 40s." Needless to say, it's a sensitive issue. How do you calculate? Median means half of all CFers are deceased by the stated age and half are over that age. This may vary by genotype or...
I'm so sorry Cam. I'm sure you've asked and asked, but I wouldn't let them off the hook until they can tell you what the pain is or what you can do to rid yourself of it. Does it respond to anything like ibuprofen or other pain relievers? Do you get to see your pulmonologist when you do PFTS...
Yes, MCT oil Ank. It was prescribe in big brown glass bottles for DS when he was little. It went in every bottle of milk. But they don't seem to prescribe it anymore. My nutritionist said it's not but I do wonder whether it wouldn't be helpful.
Great thread, with so many different approaches. Wow, AboveAll, 90% BMI! Obviously Satter's approach was a big help for you. We've been hovering close to 85% the last two visits and his pediatrician smiled really big - said he would tell us to cut back with most kids, but for him, they simply...
Cam, I'm so glad to hear you've been released from the hospital and your PFTs are climbing. I really have no other suggestion to investigate the cause of your continued pain. But I've always found that a release from the hospital doesn't mean you're completely recovered - just that you are on...
Oh no, Irs, you call them 4x a month or as many times you have a question or concern. Do NOT worry about it. Just keep calling, never give it a second thought. You will get your answers and have fewer questions after a few years or maybe more. And that's what you and your daughter need...
Irs2015, we understand. We were there too. DS was born at 5 lbs 6 oz. And in NICU for months. Gaining weight the first year was hit and miss. We worked with the nutritionist but it wasn't enough.
We finally hit on Ovaltine. He didn't like supplements but loves chocolate milk. We didn't want...
