3 months is a norm, european CF consensus actually states it is a minimum, so the clinics are very reluctant to do it more often (in the US I think it is also an insurance issue). When my dd first cultured PA, the clinic told us to do it every month for as long as we were doing TOBI. I actually...

Hi all,

Thought I would share the info, even though i am not sure it is the same way in the US. My dd has been taking Omeprazole for reflux for 3 years now. She does not swallow capsules so i was just emptying the contents (the littles granules) into some food for her.

My dd first cultured it when she was 15 m/o following a cold. She really had almost no symptoms and we were shocked and scared. Was put on Cipro and Tobi (3 rounds), but PA was gone after the first one. We breathed a sigh of relief, but a year later the same story all over again. We got rid of...

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. You must be really overwhelmed but it will get better with time. I agree with other posters, you really have to be involved and ask your doctors question about why they do this and don't do that etc. In my experience it is imperative to assure she gets the...

I have also talked to my dd's doctor about it and she was surprised b/c no one ever asked about it (i brought her an article about anti acids depleting magnesium). Missa, do you get some kind of kids' version, or you just buy adult pills and split them or something?

my dd (3.5 y/o) had a test to measure reflux. her doctor wanted to take her off the antiacid b/c she had no symptoms anymore but i insisted we do the test beforehand. I am glad we did as it turned out she had reflux even though she had absolutely no symptoms. It went well, the part where they...
