The CF genes are passed down for generations. It's possible to have any of the mutations in any family. The fact that your husband's family has known mutations makes it a little more likely that these could be the ones, but not necessarily. But you have to remember, a completely different...

Steve, my son was disgnosed almost a year ago and so far is doing very well. During the course of the past year I've been trying to find ANY information that I can about one of his mutations (c.2789+2_+3insA) with no luck. I was only told by his doctor that it was rare. Can you tell me...

Hey, I was reading your post and I have to say..this is the CLOSEST that I've ever seen anyone to my son's mutations. He has DF508/c.2789+2_+3insA. I've been trying to find someone with his second mutation, but so far no luck. I realize that it's not always possible to predict the severity of...

Thanks for your responses. No, he has shown no symptoms as of now. The initial bloodwork they do in the hospital when the baby was born came back borderline. This was why the sweat test was ordered, which it also came back borderline.

My son who is now 11 weeks had a 'borderline' result from his newborn screening. The followup sweat test was also borderline. I knew I was a carrier (found out while pregnant that I carried the delta f508.) But my husbands screening came back normal, so I was told while I was pregnant there...
