No onions grown, but other vegetables yes.
So no concerns about just regular soil contact? I am very excited about this opportunity, but the "C" word is very very bad, for anyone with CF I can imagine.
Thanks for your encouragement!

I like reading Calvin and Hobbes. Reminds me of what I was like as a kid. ha.
Typically with CF I get depressed when I don't exercise, specifically weights. With CF muscles atrophy quicker, so it's easier to lose your gains. Also the natural dopamine helps.

Hello. I found a WWOOF (google that if you're not familiar) that I'd like to volunteer at. But I'm worried about soil exposure and cepacia. My doc said that if I wanted to start a garden, I shouldn't worry about it and just do it. And to not even worry about a mask.

So that's one thing...

I've tried gatorade and water in the Austin heat. Doesn't work well. My advice: two words: pickle juice.
Pickle juice has 10x the salt ("electrolytes) that gatorade has, and no sugar (which dehydrates you). You can buy it in little bottles, and it is especially great for CFers because of the...

I've done P90x. I gained about 11 lbs in one month. It's great for the bulking!
I'd ride 30 or so miles twice a week on my bike (pedicab, dont' know if you've heard of this), so I would do plyometrics, but not the cardio.
I'd HIGHLY recommend doing plyometrics. It's fantastic. My PFTs went up...
