I know I've seen this mentioned before, but after 3 unsucessful searches I thought I'd start my own thread.
Has it been mentioned before that some of you start your monthly cycle earlier when on IVs??? I'm sure I saw this someplace.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif"...
For those of you that have Medicare Part A/B--does Medicare cover anything related to home IVs???
Medicare is my secondary, so most of my home IV expense (if needed) would be covered by my primary but I didn't know if Medicare would pick up payment for any of the meds, nurse...
I received an email from Diane and she is in the hospital and would appreciate prayers and heck, a phone call or 2 may be nice too PM me if you want the phone#.
From what I understand from the email & from posts here, she started home...
This is going waaay back but does anyone know where I can find a link to the CF Center Data information that was released a few years back? It was released shortly after The Newyorker Bell Curve article.
Thanks
It seems that lately I've been more short of breath than usual but there's not really been increased sputum production.
So my question is, what do you do other than inhalers, extra Xopenex (or albuterol) treatments, etc. I think I'll call my doctor and ask for a round of steroids, maybe that...
Lately I am hesitant to answer questions/offer input to "new" users to the site because I always wonder if they really have CF or are just trying to pull our chains. I guess this stems from some inconsistencies we've had in the recent past with new user(s).
A lot of the time the new users seem...
My mom has Medicare Part D and is currently in the donut-hole & she had asked me to check online to see where she could find meds at a good price, so I thought I'd see if you guys had any luck in finding a web-site that offers meds at a pretty good price.
At her local pharmacy, her Prevacid is...
I have recently called in a refill of Pulmicort and now, all of a sudden, Medicare (my secondary coverage) denied it & says it will only cover it for COPD. That just doesn't sound right to me.
They covered in Jan/Feb/Mar, but now all of the sudden, they won't.
Just curious if anyone else has...
I've had something weird happen on a couple of threads and wondered if it's my funky computer, or if everyone sees the same thing.
If you pull up the topics "Sweat" or "Facial Features" in the Adults with CF category--does the entry look like a blog entry or something with a background...
I had the weirdest thing happen this a.m. I ate breakfast and took my 3,000 IU of vitamin D, an enzyme and also took my first AquaADEK ever.
OK, fast forward 20-25 minutes later. My cheeks start to feel like they're burning, then my whole face, then I notice that my arms are blotchy, then I...
I sometimes have streaks or a little worse and I wondered what your doctor suggests (if anything) that you do differently when having hemoptysis? I always forget to ask my doctor about this.
Possibly the amount of blood & how long it lasts determines if you adjust your normal routine???
I...
The last time I was at clinic, I mentioned to my doctor that I've had a bad taste in my mouth & he noticed that my tonsils looked all crummy.
He then cultured for strep throat and some other things.
I received a copy of the report & I was negative for strep, but the report said...
AFB...
Do any of you know if the lab techs check for everything automatically on sputum cultures, or do the doctors have to tell the lab to check for each bug by name (i.e. MRSA, cepacia, aspergilous, PA, etc)?
I assume they check for everything automatically, but wasn't 100% sure.
I saw a guy on Ellen last week & he had letters and words written on each finger & various parts of his hands & they played a song in the back ground & he was able to spell out each word of the song using his hands/fingers. Sounds crazy...guess you just had to be there.
Did anyone else see this...
Lately I've been noticing an increased shortness of breath & I wonder if any of this could be attributed to allergies.
It could be CF related, but I thought I would get some allergy testing done to see if there's a possibility that part of this SOB is due to untreated allergies (or not).
Sooo...
For those of you that have the inCourage vest, did you have to order it directly from RespirTech??
They are not a preferred provider with my insurance company, which would mean that I would have to cover 30% of the cost and a $650. deductible. If I can get it at an in-network provider, then...
