    arm vs chest port

Similar to breatheforher's daughter, I also have an underarm port. I love it because it can't really be seen unless you have a really low cut tank on and also have your arms lifted. Access is easy as long as you get an extension on the IV line when it's accessed. I've only found one negative so...

    transplant questions

Hey Midnight. The procedure is somewhat risky but when the lungs are failing it is usually the only option left except for passing on. Most people make it through the surgery and the recovery. There is risk for acute and/or chronic rejection of the lungs as the years pass. But there are many...

    Question for the older cfers

Great question. At age 23 I had a massive infection, went into right heart failure, was put on oxygen full time and listed for transplant. Here I am still almost 20 years later. Why??? Not because I was transplanted. It was because of exercise. To get ready for transplant I started exercising...

Hey Roy, It's Stephanie. I met you at the Festiv-ale beer tasting in Indianapolis. I'm SO HAPPY to hear that Julie got transplanted. I know she had been struggling for some time. Congrats to you both. Now you can really live the dream. Peace, Steph

    Need help, at a loss

Hey Vampy. I would seriously consider looking into a new doctor and/or center. Maybe if you said what city you are in others could make some recommendations. You keep doing what you know is best for your body. After years of living with this diseases and it's related symptoms no one nows your...

    RT's refusing to do CPT

VIVA LA REVOLUTION!!! Definitely protest all the way to the top. That is not excusable in my opinion. I always insist on manual CPT when I'm in. As mentioned above we can do "the Vest" at home. I really don't care what the studies say. When I'm sick nothing clears me out better than CPT. When...
