I use the NUK Baby Bottle Sterilizer that was sent to me from CF Service to clean my altera nebs. It has developed a brown/orange residue/deposits on the bottom metal part that you pour the water on. Should I try to clean this off, or just leave it?
Also, I know it says to use tap water, but...
CF services sends a new Altera w/ each order of Cayston...I have 5 now, and the older ones do not work as well as the newer ones.
Am I supposed to send them back, or can I throw them away? I don't use them; they are just taking up space...what do you guys do once they stop working as...
What do you guys use for bathroom cleaners? Previously I used 409, but I recently purchased Clorox Clean-up thinking it would be more effective at killing germs and what not. However, it's really harsh and says something to the effect of it's not recommended for people with chronic respiratory...
When I was dx with CF at age 20, I was told I was pancreatic sufficient. I've had some pretty bad issues with constipation, but that's pretty much the extent of my GI issues.
I have lost about 10 lbs recently (still not underweight or anything), but I'm 99% sure it's due to working out 2 hours...
I started Cayston Monday night, and late that night/early the next morning was REALLY nauseous...I ended up having to take off work and come home I felt so bad.
Is this a side effect of Cayston? My doc told me to stop Cayston for a few days and see if it clears up in case it is related. I feel...
I've had my Cayston for a couple weeks, but have not started it yet b/c I can't figure out how to time the treatments to where they are 4 hours apart...*bangs head against wall* lol
If I do one in the am (5:30am), I'll have to do a treatment at work...I don't get home until 7:00pm and try to be...
Does anyone else get really sharp chest pain at completely random times? It's not frequent at all (maybe a few times a year)...and will only last for maybe 30 seconds. However, those 30 seconds or so are extremely painful; ie I cannot stand up straight, can't take a deep breath, etc. One time it...

I log on CNN every morning and immediately recognized Eva's pic this morning! Wonderful article on her.

Ok, so I haven't cultured Psuedo since 2005, so my dr told me I could stop TOBI, and if I culture it again, she will put me on Cayston (yay!)
Long story short, started coughing up some nasty stuff yesterday, so I'm going to go ahead and use the TOBI I have on hand since that is abnormal for me...
Ok...so a few of my friends have done mud-runs and/or muddy buddy races. Basically you run, crawl, slide, ride, etc through mud. I know it sounds silly, but it looks and sounds really fun from what I've heard! <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge...
I have been looking for a new job for a while, and with our restructuring I think my position will soon be gone.
I have never had luck on sites like monster.com, etc. I've applied for a few postings on LikedIn, but haven't heard back. Does anyone know of good sites to look for job posting...
Last year, our tax guy told me that I was better off filing for a standard refund, as opposed to itemized (ie using medical expenses, etc). He said since I'm not a homeowner and don't have a mortage, my refund would be larger filing for a standard as opposed to itemized.
Has anyone else run...
I posted this story a few weeks ago about CFer on CNN; she is not expected to live much longer (I believe she has MS & CF). Anyway, her community had a fundraiser to cover the cost of her funeral - her only Christmas wish; she did not want her family to have to pay for her funeral expenses...
I saw a link on CNN this morning about a 21 year old planning her own funeral. I thought that sounded strange, so I clicked on it..turns out she has Muscular Dystophy & CF; docs say she only has a few weeks left. I've posted the link below; so sad. She seems to be suprisingly at peace and...
Hello All!
I have not been very active on here the past year or so, but have been lurking for a bit when I get the spare time...long enough to know how devastating this fall has been for this forum.
I just wanted to share some good news - I completed my 2nd Marathon (26.2 miles) this past...
I've had migraines before...the type where my vision gets blurry and I have to basically hide under a pillow and am completely useless for about a minimum of 6 hours.
However, for the past 6-8 months I've had a few SEVERE migraines...still got blurry vision, but then I was unable to read or...
I'm currently on Birth Control pills (have been since November of last year). I know antibiotics diminish the effectiveness of birth control, but I was wondering if Zithromax/Azithromycin would still have the diminishing effect since I only take it M/W/F instead of every day?
I'm going to ask...
I'm in Houston...preparing for Hurricane Ike <img src="">
fortunately I just finished TOBI and don't have too much pulmozyme on hand. Any suggestions for keeping my pulmo cold? All stores were sold out of ice, so we are freezing blocks of ice in plastic containers and I guess I'll keep them in...
The girl who walks our dog was going on and on about how I need to try "Reliv" -- from what I understand, you mix it in a drink or something and it's supposed to be really healthy for everyone, and this girl swears that "a couple of her friends w/ CF have had AMAZING results"
*sigh* i really...
