I completely understand you.
One New Year's Eve, I think 8 years ago, we were supposed to go to DH's aunt's house for supper. My mother-in-law called and told me I shouldn't come cause lots of the people there were sick, with one having a bad fever. DH agreed and called his aunt and said we...
I just wanted to add that there are 2 PulmoAides; A compact one and the regular one. What are the differences ? One difference I know of is the psi (30 vs 35 for the compact one). I looked at the specs and there are other differences. My pharmacist ordered me the compact one which I now am...
I use the same one than with TOBI (Pari LC Plus + Devilbiss Pulmoaide) but I am wondering if it is the best one to use (# of psi?) ... I used to use a MedPro with a standard nebulizer that comes with it but since I switched, the treatment times have been shorter but I wonder which nebul + comp...
I've read here that lots of people sterilize their nebs with a baby bottle sterilizer. What brands are the best (Nuk, Nuby, etc.) ? I want to buy the best one.

Pulmozyme makes the phlegm more liquidy so you can cough it up easier. Definitely Pulmo before vest (wait 30 min before doing the vest so it has time to work). Look also on the cff website, they state the recommandations.
The CF Foundation suggests :
1. Bronchodilator
2. Mucus thinning medicines, like Pulmozyme
3. Airway
clearance
4. Inhaled antibiotics
I do/take (in order) : Airomir, 15 min after airway clearance, Symbicort, 15
min after Spiriva and 15 min after Coly-Mycin.
I'm wondering where to...
Hello !
For those of you using Pulmozyme (once daily), when do you do it (in the morning, before breakfast, during your lunch hour, in the afternoon, before supper, just before bed, etc.) ? In which order do you do it (just before antibio, etc.) ? Any long term side effects (alteration of...
I am on Coly-Mycin and it works very well. The doc does not want me on it continously because of resistance (I know it's harder with this antibio to get resistance, I wonder if anybody is resistant to Coly?). I will ask my doc if we have Bramitob.
I officially stopped TOBI. My lungs were awful on it (asthma like symptoms : wheezing/tightness(bronchospam), phlegm, etc.) ! I went back to my buddy Coly-Mycin ;-) My doc will see me in a week and we will discuss Cayston. It seems that with TOBI the side effects strongly outwayed the beneficial...
Hi everyone,
We are thinking of having another baby. We have a 10 yo daughter and at the time, my trts were easier and quicker. It now takes 4-4.5 hours a day and I wonder if I'll be able to juggle the trts + a new baby ... How did you guys/gals do it ? Any hints ?

The thing is we are colonised with it which does not happen with that many other bacteria (and there's the freakin' biofilm!). Most of the gram positive bacteria you can get rid of once you take antibios. Yes, you can get it again and you will BUT at least it is not colonised in there...
Hi !
For those of you who have used or are using Cayston, have you found it better than TOBI (for mucoid PA) ? What side effects did you get (same as TOBI : altered voice, bronchospasm, tightness, etc. ?) ? No studies have been done with Cayston for drug interactions ... Should I be worried...
