Danger if vest settings too high?

Thank you - she's coughing less...definitely improving. I was alarmed yesterday because I've never seen her with coughing "fits" and gagging followed by vomiting. We called in a prescription after three days of coughing. Upon picking up the rx, I said we should see how she is today "just in...

Danger if vest settings too high?

Thanks guys...somehow seemed logical that the higher the frequency (not taking into consideration the pressure) would be better when sick. We usually follow the Minnesota protocol, but I switched the settings to a higher frequency since she began coughing - switching back to Minnesota now...

Danger if vest settings too high?

DD has a cough...I upped her vest settings, but thought I should ask if this can pose any problems (i.e., if settings are "too" high). I thought perhaps there may be an increased risk for rupturing capillaries or other vessels within the lungs? Just a thought. Anyone else been advised a...

Vertex drugs show promise with DF508

You only need one mutation of the specified mutations (either G551D for VX-770 or dd508 for VX-809/VX-770). Even if you have some other obscure mutation, as long as one of them is one of the aforementioned, the drug will apply to you. In essence, "treating" one mutation would make you something...

    I disagree

I'm with you guys! Seemed nuts! Why risk it? In addition - why allow the nebs to sit out with whatever the CF individual cultures from breathing into the unit? Not sure if it amounts to potential reinocculation, but seriously - boil the nebs before each use. It's not saving that much time to...

    I disagree

My husband was told at DD's last CF clinic that it's sufficient to sterilize neb parts one weekly. He said they looked at him with dismay when he told them we boil them before each use. Anyone else being given this information?<br>
