debby,i'll email your daughter. i, too, am a 20 year old CF-er [from israel] and i've been there - i didn't take any meds and didn't do any treatments, and of course the results were not pretty. i was 19 at the time.i guess maybe you, as a mom, should try to see what's going on in her life...

Quote

Originally posted by: Anonymous I have also noticed that right before my period I get really congested and my breathing gets whacky on me. Melissa

i heard that happens to quite a lot of CF women. ladies - how about periods? are you regular...
going on with the bloating theme---how does it go with you ladies? does it seem to be related to what/how much you eat, bathroom, lung condition? and how long do the bloated phases last?with me it seems there's no obvious indication. i can start the day flat like britney spears and end it...
have you tried giving your baby food supplements, like ensure, scandishake, fortashake etc.? they work miracles. i was older when i started drinking it, but ensure plus did a great job with me for years.

Quote

Originally posted by: scarlett- people thinking I'm pregnant because my stomach gets so big. strangers often just come up to me and say "when are you due?" or something like that. sometimes I pretend I'm actually pregnant rather than just being...
wow, this is an awesome idea! a website!well, there's the issue of antibiotics and how they can make you an yeast infection and dryness. i hear a lot of CF girls/women complaining about it. there's how some girls/women with CF, when they cough, there's a little "dripping". [somebody here in...
wow, this is amazing. a 504 plan, how the child would manage at school...i never had those stuff. i only made my CF "official" when i was in 10th grade, i sort of "came out" with it during a biology class, because we studied the breathing organs and my teacher, who has just found out, had asked...
hey,20/f with CF here my opinion [as well as what the doctor reccommended my mother] is treat your sick child just as you would your healthy child. holding him back does more harm than good in the short and in the long run.when i was...
well, dear, i've met plenty of doctors in my life, but the one you're talking about is a complete idiot.i'm 20, with cf. i won't repeat the statistics, because everybody else had posted them. but honestly, that doctor lives in the sixties/seventies when it comes to cf. we don't live "horrible...
1. When were you diagnosed with CF? officially i was diagnosed at age of 1 yr. my mother, though, knew what i had when i was 1 month old, because my older brother died of it before i was born. 2. How often do you do Chest Physiotherapy? By Vest? By hand? i don't have a vest as i live in...

i've gotten my period later than expected [14 and 9 months, fully developed, while my mother got it at almost 13] and it has always been irregular. when i was 15 and a half, it even stopped for six months with no visible reason, then came back. i consulted my cf doctor and a gynecologist, and...

i think that in general, all the attention that's brought to food and nutrition and weight in cf, it's just asking for an eating disorder... you talk about it so much, something will f--k up...

i had a port placed in me [pardon my english, not my first language] a year and a half ago, and overall, it's a wonderful thing. before i got it, it was very difficult to finish a two-week IV course, because my veins were very fragile and it was a trouble to hold in an IV. so i had to have the...

don,i can see your point. we don't know, none of us, when are we going to die. it actually looks silly to me how everybody who is somehow related to cf blocks out death and tries not to think of it... it's not like only the people with cf are going to die. everybody else will, as well. it just...
