Thank you for the advice. I appreciate it. One thing I wasn't clear on though is that this is a debilitating cough, he will cough non stop from 7am -2pm, sometimes longer. At night he might cough from 9pm until 1am when he finally coughs himself to sleep. It is a barky, non productive cough...
