On my last several hospital stays, at both Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Children's Hospital, an "dedicated" stethoscope was brought to my room and left there for everyone to use. No other stethoscopes were allowed in my room.

I would agree with you, except the Mom here doesn't raise any of these issues. She states two things. One, she "thinks" that the GI Doctor does unnecessary tests and two, all that daughter needs is to eat breakfast.
She wants the population here to tell her that she is right and that...
People go to College and Grad School to try and understand these mutations. It is overwhelming for all of us. My advice is to forget about the "mutations" and deal with (and enjoy) your child one day at a time. My second mutation has been found with 5 families in Northern Ireland. My family...

Let me agree with you "Doctor makes mistakes". The trouble is, we all make mistakes, parents included.
Lets say that the Doctor is wrong and he/she does the test. What is the down side? Child fasts, drinks terrible tasting stuff, has the test and pigs out the next day.
Lets say mom...

I have posted earlier that there is a woman, who shares my CF Doctor with me, who is only 3 months younger than I am. Additionally, when I was an inpatient at MGH, a nurse told me that a few months earlier, they had a patient, who was there for reasons other than CF but who had CF...

I am not surprised that people out here question my age. I do find it interesting that nobody ever had the willingness to challenge me personally. In doing so, however, they are questioning my honesty and veracity. This is unacceptable.
I would be willing to email to you copies of...
It bothers me that this Mom is looking for other excuses and permission to overrule the Doctor. CF Patients can have many problems that can be detected by a colonoscopy.
Exposed to what!! A cold, allergy or CF. If you don't know the answers to these questions, you need to attend the CF Clinic when he goes there. Ask every possible question there.
I will tell you that you can not "catch" an allergy or CF but you can catch a cold.

Google Steven D. Freedman, MD, PhD. He is at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. I understand that Boston is a long way from where you live but the trip vs a lifetime of pain and discomfort is worth it.

Two things Robin, first I am not a "self Proclaimed expert", quite the opposite, my Doctors are the experts and because I listen to them I am 74. Other than living with this disease for 74 years I have...

I have been on this site since 2009, you have been here for about 10 months. I have a long history of posting, almost 1400 posts. Unless you have taken the time to become familiar with my history, I find the comments that you directed to me (mothers not fathers) both uninformed and...
