    Severe stomach pain

Just wanted you to know I'm thinking about you both. Sounds like they are being cautious, which is generally good with surgery. I'll be pulling for the pain to lessen by the hour so that no surgery will be needed right now. I'm sorry that you are both under this stress. My best wishes.

    Questions about Oxygen

I have been on and off oxygen over the past 9 years. Generally, if your O2 saturation is below 90 at rest, you need supplemental oxygen. The saturation is measured by an oximeter. The moaning at night is a good indicator - I've had the same thing happen to me. Yes, you can go on O2 for...

    G576A and R668C

Miesl, I mean this in the nicest way possible - I do not want you on the cf team! You can be a coach, you can be a cheerleader, or you can be a fan, but I hope you find you are disqualified from being on the team! I'll be thinking good thoughts for you over the next two weeks. Here's to...

    life after hemoptysis

My experience mirrors Amy's. My first bleed happened about 4 or 5 months ago. I wasn't stressed. In fact, things were going great. I'd been feeling wonderful. I reached for the phone at work to make a call, and wham, out of nowhere the gurgling started and I began coughing up blood. Lots...

snot that important and probably a silly question

Welcome to the club! I think this is fairly common. Sometimes when I'm coughing and blowing my nose at the same time I wonder how any air is able to get into my lungs!!

How Much Sleep Do You Need?

I do best on 6-7. I've been that way my entire life. Drove my parents nuts when I was little. I hate naps. They always make me feel groggy for hours after I wake up. Looks like I'm the weirdo in the group! Wouldn't be the first time, and won't be the last, I'm sure!!

    Working with CF

I would second the idea that you may want to work for a larger company that has benefits, because those come in very handy for someone with cf. Depending on the company, some are much better than others at supporting flexible work arrangements. There are magazines that put out annual lists of...
