I asked the cf doc if he knew of anything that would help and he said no but would ask his GI colleagues. I will ask about the mucomyst. Thanks everyone and if you think of anything else, please let me know.

Thanks for the advice. Miralax doesn't work for her any more. She was on it since infancy and is now on ex-lax daily to have a bm. She had to have bowel resection surgery this past summer and they removed 28 inches of her colon but still requires a fairly large dose of laxatives to have a bm...
