Yeah I hear the boredom thing. I hate TV, so that isn't even an option for me most of the time. Sometimes you'll get a cool nurse or CNA that will sit down and chat for a bit. I usually take books and stuff and my laptop or iPad or both.
Regarding isolation, what are you culturing that they...
Personally, when I am sick I like to be left alone. I rarely have visitors, except for really close friends and family and they typically only stay a short time (less than an hour).
I have noticed increased sensitivity when on quinolones, but an SPF 15 is enough to prevent burns. I am almost full-blooded Irish and I tan quite well. Like Incomudrox, there is some native American in my family tree, but I am nowhere near 1/4, my grandmother is 1/4, though.
As Bill said, there is no reason to panic. 164mg/dl is a little higher than you would like to see, and her doctors will be able to use the glucose diary to figure out the best course of treatment for her.
When I was on prednisone for ABPA, I had a BSG of over 500mg/dl. The highest I've ever...
Also, keep in mind that they like to list early, as it can take years for a match to be found. I know people who have been listed and then gone "inactive" as they either stabilized or improved.
If there's an infiltrate on CXR, it's pneumonia. The big questions here are: What's the bacteria? What are they sensitive to? What antibiotics have been used already, for how long and in what route?
It's an ampule. Personally, I wouldn't risk trying to save the unused medication. The only thing you could do, would be to break the ampule and draw the entire contents into a sterile syringe. Refrigerate the syringe and then dose 20mg at a time. You risk contaminating the medication doing...
AWP= Aquagenic Wrinkling of Palms.
I agree that it doesn't have much to do with sebaceous gland production. The problem, as Mark said, is the chloride ion transport and a hypertonic cellular environment. When exposed to a hypotonic solution, water follows the concentration gradient to...
Sadly, there was a miscommunication with my clinic and I don't have an appointment on the 18th. With that said, I emailed some photos of my own AWP test that I did today along with the list of supplements I am taking. I asked if there were any other scientific markers (such as nasal PD or...

Can you point me to where you found this? I've looked at quite a few studies and can't find a hard number at which bacterial growth is accelerated...
I would ask your doc about a glucose tolerance test. Depending on the results, an endocrinologist consult might be helpful. Just make sure it's an endo who is familiar with CFRD.
Remarkable. I have a clinic appointment in a week and I am going to demonstrate this for them in real-time. It will be interesting to get their reaction.

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote><i>Originally posted by: <b>reginadpruitt</b></i> Have you ever been evaluated by a psychiatrist for bipolar disorder?</end quote>
Yes, and he said that bipolar is a bit of a fad these days (much like ADHD was a decade ago). Given that there are 4 levels of...
There is also a product called Ayr. It's a water based gel which is great for moisturizing your nose. Any pharmacy should have this and you can use it until you can get a humidifier for your concentrator.
