what is the median age WITHOUT transplant

You know I hate to think that "on average" I only have 10 years left to live. I pay no attention to those averages and refuse to think that I apply to that. With all the improvements and such I think that those numbers can and will change. If I let myself believe that I only have so long to...

    aspergillus

I have abpa and I treat it with sporonox and advair. Works really well too but I can tell when it's acting up. My cough gets tighter and it gets hard to cough things up. Usually a little albuterol will help with that though. Prednisone is used when I go in the hospital or when I get so tight...

    bug bombs

Thanks Diane! That's what I thought. I just hope they don't do it anyway. Of course if they do we can just kick them out and find someone else to live there. Nikki 26/f/cf

    New PA antibiotic

I've been involved in the study for inhaled aztreonam and it works wonders! There is I believe one more phase left to finish and then it should be available. When I was on aztreonam my pft's went up and when I was on tobi the went down a little, nothing drastic though. But I like this new...

    PA treatment

I currently take tobi every other month and coly on the off months. I have pa and aspergillis (which sucks because I'm allergic to the aspergillis). I'm also on pulmozyme and albuterol. I guess I've been on tobi for 5 or 6 years I think. Nikki 26/f/cf

    bug bombs

I have a question. We own a duplex and the people on the other side of the house want to do a bug bomb. Anyone had any experience with these? Or known the side effects for people with lung problems? All the renters want to do is get rid of the spiders and I don't think a bug bomb even does...

    Vest

I love the vest! When I feel good I can get by using the flutter but the vest makes me feel so much clearer. It's like it gets all of your lungs not just bits and pieces. Sucks to travel with so short stays I take the flutter but I would still recommend the vest to anyone! Nikki 26/f/cf

    Full Time Teacher

I wanted to be a teacher so bad myself. I went to school for it and started my student teaching. I did not last two weeks before getting so sick I could hardly stand up. On average I go in the hospital 1 or 2 times a year depending on the winters and such and I'm on Tobi or coly depending on...

    Pregnancy and antibiotics

With all this talk about pregnancy I just wanted to know if anyone is taking any antibiotics while pregnant? I know there are alot of them you cannot take while pregnant and was just wondering if anyone was on tobi for life and went off of it to get pregnant because I think that is one you...

    pulled muscles from coughing

What is a pleurisy? I've had plenty of mucus plugs and coughed them up many times but I have no idea what a pleurisy is. I don't think it's the gallblader, to high for that. It's right under my rib cage. But I will check into that just in case and to be on the safe side. Thanks for your...

    pulled muscles from coughing

Hi everyone! Just wondering if any of you have any theraputic methods for yourself when you pull a muscle coughing. I am not sure if I pulled a muscle or bruised a rib or something but I have this pain in my side for about a month now and it won't go away. It feels like that pain you get when...
