I am not sure how compliant he is with his CPT and breathing treatments, but that combined with exercise could raise his FEV1. Also, a lot of us do IV drugs at home. Won't the doctor let him do that?

I've done it quite a few times (even while pregnant). It makes my lips, tongue and face a little numb in the first few days (only for a while after getting a dose). Then, it's just my lips for a few days. Then, it goes away. It's definitely worth dealing with that to get my FEV1 back though...
