    Oxygen

I also had to do the overnight oxygen thing for my insurance. My Dr. set it up for me and it came right to my house. All I did was attach the oximeter to my finger for the night and my results were read all night. It was then sent up to be evaluated. It wasn't hard and as long as your...

I have coughed up blood many times and have had to have an embolization 3 times and a scope once. In 2002 I was coughing up serious amounts of blood. They figured it was between 4-6 cups. Can't really measure when its in the toilet<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">...

I hope that I didn't say anything to offend anyone and I certainly wasn't trying to take on a holier than thou approach so I hope that what I said wasn't misconstrued. Emilee

    New baby with CF...

Erin, That is the answer that I was going to give so I won't go into that, but we are not sure if my husband is a carrier or not. We hadn't had him tested and then we found out I was pregnant. After that we were going to have him tested but his insurance wouldn't cover it. It is a very...

    2 children with CF

I don't mean to talk for anyone but I think that all that anonymous was saying was that why test while you are pregnant if you are already pregnant. I agree with that, due to my own morals. I have CF and when I found out I was pregnant I didn't get tested because I wouldn't have changed...

    Turned down for SSDI ..suggestions

I too was able to get it without question. Which we are grateful for. I think a big kicker was that my Dr. was so pro me not working. Talk to your Dr to see if they contacted him. I felt like mine had a great impact on whether I got it or not.

    Oxygen

Hey thanks for responding. I know that there are times where I just get impatient and chasing my baby around isn't always easy with oxygen, but I certainly can't complain. I have come a long way this past year and am very blessed. I have a moment of being down and then I am usually able to get...

    Oxygen

I am just wondering how many of you are on oxygen? I have been on it for over a year. I have been battling getting off and I just wanted to know how common it is for CFers to be on it. I had always been really healthy until the past two years. The first year I started going down hill I had a...

    coughing up blood

I also have had some bad bleeds. I have had to go in and have my lungs cotterized 3 times. Once in 2002 and twice in 2004 while I was pregnant. At that time they had to vent me twice which was really scary. For the person who said it felt like they were drowning, I am right there with you...

    Questions about newly diagnosed baby

Jenica, I just wanted to had a hopeful view. I am 25 years old and have CF. I have been married for 3 years and last year had a baby girl of my own. I have had such a wonderful and fulfilling life. I feel that having CF hasn't held me back but pushed me to achieve all that I could. I feel...

How do you feel about people knowing that you have CF?

I am now 25 years old, but when I was younger I was definitely embarrased about having a disease that made me different from others. I can totally relate to her. I never wanted to tell people because I didn't want them to think of me as different. My really close friends knew and were a great...
