HillRom vest-do you have to unplug after each use?

It's MUCH safer, both for you and the equipment to unplug it after use. If bending down to unplug is a problem, plug it in higher. I have an outlet on my kitchen counter where I plug in my hair dryer and vest. No deep knee bends required!

Why is it safer? Just curious about the science of it and I KNOW you can answer that, LightNlife <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0">

Funny you should post this...My husband always unplugs it after he does a vest session with Emily in the evenings. The outlet is behind a chair and not visible from where we sit to do her session. So, every morning I get her into her vest, get comfy on the floor, get the tubes in place, and "WHAMO!" no power. So, I get up and plug in while Emily does her best to wiggle out of the vest. SHe's a mini-escape artist mixed with a monkey and she CAN do this.

Every morning I wonder...WHY does he do that????? I guess now I know.

As far as the bending down difficulties...do you have any "switched outlets" in your home? We have some outlets that only work if a light switch in in the "on" position. We keep the nebulizer pluggged into one of these becasue Emily likes to play with the switch on it. This way, she can only turn it on if the light switch is on, which is usually only during treatments. I think that having the vest compressor plugged into a switched outlet and then flipping the switch would be the same as unplugging it, wouldn't it?????
