Can my husband catch my staph aureus?

well, it's not so much that you're not contagious, it's more hat bug don't typicaly colonize in normal funtioning sinuses and lungs.

i'm sure we "infect" people all the time, but the bugs shouldn't take hold unless the conditions are right.

he may have had sinus congestion or allergies that have given a place for the staph to hang for a while. even if this unlikley scenario were the case, it should pass for him. antibiotics might help, but i bet it goes naturally when the underlying condition clears up.

This may comfort you a bit to know that perfectly healthy people produce yellow to green mucus when they are sick, whether it be from their lungs or their sinus's.
I agree with kswitch, we infect people everywhere we go, but the difference is, a good running immune system will knock the crap out of ( and get rid of) what we get and keep.

As far as I know many healthy people do colonize for example MRSA, but it doesn´t make them sick, also they can be contagious for people like us...Thats especially a problem at hospitals because often people who work there do have MRSA, don´t know about it but can "give" it to sick people.
