Manners: huffing/coughing and apartment living, hotel stays

IMHO I wouldnt worry about it. IF its an issue for someone they will bring it up. IF you give the power of suggestion then depending on the people they might make something out of nothing.

Its a natural part of your life & routine. Its no worse then a baby crying or snoring. I do realize their are instances that these issues have become problematic, but realistically as a rule........you should be fine.

They might be more concerned about what they hear then bothered so I if you feel the need to say something. I would do it in an approach that is educational for them as not to worry them.

Good LUck!

I wouldnt bring it up either. Like Mel said, it could make things worse and they might make a big deal of it if they know something is going on. If they have concernns and come to you, then possibly tell them, based on your comfort level, but I wouldnt bring it up. I DEF wouldnt bring it up in ahotel room, b/c its not like you have to live near them, and will have to deal with them for a long time. I would think if you live in an apt complex, your neghbors will be more concerned with what they hear as in, how you are doing....at least a good neighbor would hopefully be that way.

Good Luck with your new apt!

i would bring it up. dont know about anyone else but i certainly wouldnt want to be woken up by someone hacking their guts up late at night or early in the morning. our coughs can travel pretty far. people also get concerned too. my neighbour at my old house could always hear me coughing when he was in his backyard and he was very worried about me. poor old man thought i was going to drop dead until i told him i had cf! as for the hotel, i wouldnt bring it up there but i would be respectful of other people and not do noisy treatments at inappropriate times. people go to hotels to relax for one reason or another so yeah.
