Click here: Pulmonary Function Trendshttp://members.boardhost.com/Transbuddies/Hi allMost of you who read the Glutathione board regularly probably read my recent posting about my rejection that recently was diagnosed. I cannot blame Glutathione but it sure seems like it is pointing in this direction. I no longer take Glutathione in any form. I feel at this time, I need to make others aware of the possibility of the dangers of taking any kind of glutathione for a transplant patient. I knew of the possibility of the risks before I took it as it is an immune boosting antioxidant. I have my theories which are logical why this occurred but currently I am focussing on getting better and making a complete recovery. The only very sad thing is that I was off steroids for five years and have been rejection free for seven and a half years. I only started taking Glutathione in March of 2003 and failed to have my pulmonary tests checked as I was feeling way too good. My PFT's dropped in the category that indicates rejection by thirty to forty percent. I am back up twenty percent so I have half way to go.It is a proven fact that Glutathione raised my serum levels of my anti-rejection medications therefore my absorption of these drugs were increased. I was able to cut down by two grams during the time I took GSH. I also believe that my body was under extra stress trying to absorb and digest the drugs as well as taking Glutathione which probably was trying to pull the drugs out of my body. The direct competition and absorbtion of the drugs, that is where I believe the trouble lies and my body became extremely toxic in Glutathione. This is all speculation on my part but it is proven that in my case I was absorbing my drugs more rapidly and then again, I also do not know if after a few months on Glutathione whether my drugs were working too well because of the load on my body with glutathione. My drug serum levels were checked and they remained fine. I started to get really bad headaches and panic attacks and then I realized I could have rejection. Tests were confirmed with a bronchoscopy that I have acute rejection. I am counting my blessings as this type of rejection is reversible. Please share my story with your friends. I think it is very important that the transplant community in general needs to know. If you belong to any LISTSERVS please send them this email along with my new site that will be most constructive. I will check the Glutathione board often but will not participate as much as this is kind of stressful for me at this time. I created a site which is motivational and constructive and not controversial. IT is called " Pulmonary Function Test Trends " a link to transplantbuddies.orgI hope this new site will keep folks like me motivated to keep on track using their hand held micro-spirometer that is the earliest sign of rejection or infection. If I had used mine properly, I would have detected my rejection much early on and probably would not be going through this treatment protocol in excess. Please keep me in your Prayers as I might have a long road ahead to get back where I started.Sincerely,RisaTransplantbuddies.orghttp://transplantbuddies.orgPulmonary Test Trendshttp://members.boardhost.com/Transbuddies
