Melissa, I'm so glad you posted this!!! I keep meaning to add to one of the many oil inhalation posts the benefit this has to my skin - but then forget again! You've now reminded me! thanx
I too suffer skin wise when i start to get run down, over-tired, stressed, i always have and like you i'm 37 and to be honest i feel a bit miffed that on top of everything else, i have wrinkles AND pimples!! Pfffftttt!!
I'm the one who first started this whole facial sauna with oils thing, sean always did his oils in his neb i believe. But i have to tell you a bonus i noticed was my skin absolutely glowed when i did this, not one pimple!
I would do the facial sauna twice a day and afterwards when the pores are all open from the steam and still moist, i would put on my serums, moisturisers etc and i just loved what it did to my skin. Now i say 'glowed' rather than 'glows' because about 3-4 weeks ago I managed to blow up my facial sauna and have not managed to get another until yesterday. And guess what's happened to my skin......yech!!! it's lost it's clarity, the pores are more obvious and i've got a few spots. I can't wait to start using my new new facial spa tonight!!
Luckily my lungs have stayed fairly good though, chesty to start with but very clear now and with no antibiotics or oils!! However (sean davis take a bow!!) i have started taking oregano oil capsules for the last 2 weeks - 3 a day totalling 1500mg. The first few days i coughed up a lot more gunk than usual and it came up very easily too but now i am very clear and feel great. My energy levels are great at the moment too, so a small part of me is wondering if this oregano has managed to kick my cepacia out the door???!!!! Could i be so fortunate????? whaddya reckon? <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">
Anyhoo, as far as the sauna and your skin is concerned i HIGHLY recommend it! Even if you are reluctant to put oils in it, the steam on it's own would still be good for your skin, although maybe not quite AS good as if it contained an oil or two.
One thing, i think i recall you mentioning you suffer or have suffered from hemoptysis - if so, tread carefully and start slowly and check with your doc first, no harm done and just to be safe.
Take care and keep us posted
