I don't know if this is applicable for what you are doing, but how about getting standard insurance coverage for more than one neb cup per 6 months -- do they seriously think everyone is going to wash, rinse and dry only one cup twice a day for 6 months then wait to get another cup to be paid for by insurance? I pay out of pocket to buy about 6 at a time so we can wash them all and be done for a couple of days.

Oh, I was just thinking about filters for the compressors, too. I just assumed with the issues I've had dealing with neb cups and compressors, that I'd have similar issues with the filters. So I just ordered a bunch online when I picked up a couple new Bubbles fish masks and some pari neb cups.

I think part of my problem was being a new parent of a cfer and really not knowing who to call, what kind of questions to ask, while being overwhelmed with everything. When I first called the local DME provider, I was transferred several times, was frustrating and scary. I felt stupid not knowing what I should be asking... 'Course could've been those pregnancy hormones, I'd cry during campbells soup commercials, too! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I too, had the same problem with getting a Pari Proneb (which I specifically asked for, and got the company name from a cf related prescription pharmacy). I had to get out my Pulmozyme "patient insert" and show the woman who brought me out a nebulizer I had never heard of (that was so loud and big I was shocked!) that my medication had specific neb/compressor combinations that were required.

When that Pari died, they gave me a loaner (good) - it was dusty (bad- I had to clean it myself) and after 2 months of no replacement compressor, I had to contact Pari myself.

Compliment: Pari has been really good about helping me out with my compressor issues- I don't have a local durable goods provider for that anymore.

I also get multiple neb cups every 6 months- my neb cup supplier took a bit of convincing that yes, I did mean that I wanted 8. But they did send them right out after we got that straightened out.
