I wanna hear/read some achievements you guys have accomplished SO FAR, cause I know more greatness is coming...

To get the ball rolling my partner lobbied the Australian parliment in 1995 to get Pulmozyme listed on the PBS(pharmaceutical benefit scheme), she went to Canberra(capital) and met some politicians, that year after her trip to Canberra Pulmozyme got listed (really bizarre story behind her getting to the point of lobbying it, hope she shares it oneday).

Amoungst her greatest achievements is, of course, meeting me...hehe

I would love to hear yours....ANYTHING that you consider one of your greatest moments....

This is not as big as getting into politics but, I brought 3 new sponsors on board for the Seattle Great Strides this year.

I also met my wonderful fiance! He's amazing. I helped him recover from his kidney surgery and we kept each other sane during the hard time from his cancer diagnosis through recovery. He is the best man ever!

Ry was nominated for ice prince in high school, competed in state tap and regional swing, did tons of musicals and plays in his theatre career, married ME (the smartest thing he ever did), won Mr. Individuality in high school, was nominated for homecoming prince junior year in college, was the president of Spanish club in high school, worked with the Helena Peacekeepers board to protest the war, held a job from the ages of 16-31, was a great dad to Ahava, and other things I'm sure I'm forgetting.

I think its sad there aren't more posts in here! Come on people! (I guess maybe people are uncomfortable.)

Hmmm. Well, for me professionally my biggest acheivment was winning some art awards for my work. I was the youngest person to win a national award for a music concert promo painting I did. ( i was 16) I had my first solo art show at 17, and got in the newspaper for that. Again, just for being so young. Everybody needs their 15 mins of fame I guess, for me it was 5 seconds.....

Personally I think my biggest acheivment has been conquering my emotional health issues, going to therapy, fighting hard to overcome my past. I've come very far in that. Thinking back to a time when I wanted to end my life-wow, it's been a long time. Doing good.

Another would be going to the middle east. That was a dream of mine, and we did it even thought everyone said not to. Huge life-learning experience.

Nice idea for a thread, dude. Positive!!

I completed my school exams in hospital while running temps of about 39*C, lol. I haven't really achieved all that much (yet!) but thanks to my transplant I have a VERY long list of things I want to do. Hopefully promote organ donation while I'm at it, as there simply aren't enough organ donors over here!

I am not sure how far back we are referring to so I will include all that I remember. Lets start as a baby. I received an Honorary Girl Scout membership for being born on the Girl Scouting birthday. For 5 years in a row as an active girlscout I won top sales for the girl scout cookie drive. I was 6th grade class president. I was one of only 2 girls on the schools Cross Country team for 2 years. I was Class Secretary in my Sophmore year. Prom rep in my Senior Year & Co Editor of the yearbook in my Senior year. I worked & was promoted within 1 year of my first 2 jobs. I held my last & longest job for 12 years. I married & had a beautiful daughter. I am the youngest matricharc of any family I think. For being the baby everyone comes to me.....why? I guess because I accept the responsibility. Most important achievement is the person I turned into. I went thru many stages including caddiness, bitchiness & selfishness. Now I think I am fairly well rounded & a descent human being! GIve or take a day!

Okay, Im going to toot my own horn for a moment. I'm not sure where to start. I was 6th grade class Pres, 7th grade vice, 8th grade sec, 9th grade sec. I was cheerleader for 4 years. Captain of my squad each year and Headcheerleader for 2 years. I promise I am not a dumb blonde. I also spoke at my High school graduation, graduating with honors. I then went on to College and was President of the local psychology honor society, PSI CHI. I also spoke at my College Graduation being the top student that was picked by the dean for Social and Behavioral sciences. I then went on to work at a very stressful job. But before I quit. I was awarded top coordinator of the year in the state. It was very emotional since everyone at that point found out I was leaving. I acutally received a standing ovation. I first and last I am sure to date. But I have to say that my greatest accomplishment is being the wife and mother that I am. I get down on myself and am my worst critic but in the end I think I have a great attitude and try my best with all the love that I possess.

This is a fun thread! I like reading everyone's achievements.....very nice!!!!

Here's my horn toot:

1. I was first commisioned to paint a house portrait for $500 when I was 14 years old (big stuff!!), then I advertised my house portrait painting when I was 16 and got a few more (approx. 3x4 feet or so).

2. I played soccer for 8 years (when I was younger), was on All-Star and Club soccer teams.

3. I won the Paddle-Tennis championships in my age 10-12 division.

4. Made silver jewlery pieces in my garage, sold them in house-boutiques for 2 years during the summers.

5. Went to 4 year art school, BA in graphic design.

6. Have owned my own graphic design business for 9 years now.

7. Have rock climbed up to 5.11a.

8. I forgot to add this one , I had a long standing dream to get into an art gallery show and finally did! Didn't sell anything, but just having two paintings in there was very exciting.

9. Wanted to become comfortable skiing the Cornus and Dave's Run at Mammoth Mountain, CA - and finally did.

10. I am a wife to a fabulous, loving, caring husband!!!

Rip was director of our state's Deaf Education before he was 35. (Course he was told he would be dead by 35 so he'd pushed himself real hard to get there.)
But I think he was much more proud of being a good involved father to his 3 kids and of the clients he touched when he was a counselor. And he was proud of his time in the seminary -- and proud of getting kicked out along with his whole class for the voter reggistration work they did down south one summer.

My achievement is to have survived the life I've chosen to live with msy senses of joy and humor intact - the snese of humoris sort of cynical and wry now, but still instact.

I understand how embarrassing it is to toot your own horn. And God knows my wife hates when I do it, but I just tell her. I'm a guy.....

1) One of the first persons to play on a college sports team in 1987. Ice Hockey.

2) Learned how to fly a plane in 1993.

3) Wrote for the LA Times sports section & covered my dream team when I was a kid. The LA Kings hockey team. Also, covered the LA Dodgers in 1989 for a local radio station. So much fun, met Oral Hershiser (Big CF Supporter & Stud)
In 1988, Oral won the MVP award and gave the car to the CF Foundation.

4) 1997 my little angel (daughter) was born. What a thrill, just took her to her first football game this past weekend at the Rose Bowl.

5) Received my MBA with emphasis in Accountancy in 1997.

6) 1998 roller-bladed my first marathon in Santa Clarita, CA

7) 5 months after my double tx I biked the Los Angeles Marathon.

8) 11 months after my tx I won 4 medals at transplant olympics in Minnesota. Most for anyone with a lung tx. (1 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronzes) I gave my Gold to church, because I know without God I wouldn't still be here. My silver was given to my CF Doctor of many many years. One of my bronzes went to my mom and the other to my surgeon and transplant team at UC San Diego where tx was done.

9) Co-Chairman of celebrity hockey event in LA that in 2 years raised over 100K for CF Foundation.

10) Summer of 2005 got to train and play hockey with the LA Kings at their training center in El Segundo, CA.

11) Became a Board Member with the CF Foundation this year.

Thank you for asking, but if I have to sleep on the couch tonight it's all you CF'ers fault........j/k

well here it goes.
started racing microds (similar to 1/4midgets) when i was 8. built my first motor from scatch when I was 10. finished 4th in the state with one car, and forth in a different class in my secong car. started shooting archery when i was 13. I was trained by olympic coaches at an archery camp at the olimpic training center in Lake Placid, NY two years in a row. Placed third in the indoor states, and second in outdoor. placed high in many tournament. people I had never shot against knew my name (it was pretty cool hehe). Street racing as soon as I was driving, I shouldn't be proud of that but it was fun. Now I go on a lot of hikes. I set out to do the top five peaks in NY and have 4 of them down. next year it will be the top ten. that's about it!

Wow, what a bunch of high achievers we are!

As for me, professionally, my biggest achievements have been going to university after high school and completing a Bachelor of Nursing (whilst holding down a part-time job on the weekends) and then becoming a Registered Nurse. I have worked as an RN over the last 9 years on a part-time basis.

4 years ago I decided to go back to uni to study law and I completed my Law degree late last year This year I am about to complete post-grad studies and hope to be admitted as a solicitor early next year. All this time I have worked as a part-time RN whilst studying also. My health has really taken a battering these last few years so I'm glad I went back to study when I did, I don't think I could do it all again!

Personally, I am turning 30 in a few months time.... still not sure how I feel about that! I am surrounded by great friends and family. Finally also, I have met the man of my dreams in recent months

Well I don't know if this is much in the grand shceme of things, but my accomplishments are:

1. I graduated grade 11 while battling a lung infection and mono.
2. I moved out on my own and held a steady job for two years.
3. I've gone on SA and am still managing to do things on my own (live independantly while on a low income).
4. This is a soon to be accomplishment - I'm turning 25 next week, and have only been hospitalized twice for lung issues!
